Get ready for a shoot-‘em-up, space age-style! In this delightful Disney attraction, located in Tomorrowland, guests are given their own astroblasters to fight the evil Emperor Zurg, who has designs on all Toy Story batteries to power his “instrument of mass destruction.” You get involved by shooting each “Z” (for Zurg) that you find along the attraction route, all the while watching your points tally up on your vehicle monitor. A fantastic Audio-Animatronics likeness of Buzz Lightyear greats you in the queue, giving you last-minute instructions before you board. Though I’d rate the attraction as “C-Ticket,” it certainly is an enjoyable ride—and both overt and latent competitors will enjoy the trip. The light show is phenomenal, while the targets are plentiful—and pop up where you least expect them.
