Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
For those who prefer good quality entertainment
while dining, Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in the Magic Kingdom just
can't be topped! Located in Tomorrowland, this restaurant combines
great food with excellent entertainment--all at counter service
speed and pricing.

Situated across from Tomorrowland Indy Speedway,
Cosmic Ray's is a counter service establishment featuring a variety
of menu offerings from three "Bays"--which are separate
serving counters. The Bay concept is unique, and it really helps to
disperse the crowds across many different registers. But...the
downside is that each Bay serves items which are not available at
the other ones. So, you'll need to synchronize your party's food
needs, or else be prepared to split up to order (with each separate
order paid for individually).

But, on to the entertainment! Cosmic Ray's has a
standing contract with Sonny Eclipse, a bona fide lounge lizard!
Sonny's set includes quite a few catchy tunes, all space-themed, of
course--such as "Gravity" ("You've Got a Hold on
Me!"), along with some happy banter that's sure to please even the
most demanding audience. The show is continuous, so there's no need
to time a meal for it. Sonny can be seen best in the large
auditorium, so try for a seat there (there are other dining areas in
Cosmic Ray's, so use caution in selecting a table).

The food here is terrific! Check out the menu to see
the complete list of offerings. Cosmic Ray's serves several
sandwiches, chicken nuggets, burgers, salads, soups, fries, and
dessert. Everyone is sure to find something they like on the
extensive menu. Unfortunately, like almost all of Disney's counter
service restaurants, Cosmic Ray's serves iced tea from the soda
fountain. Poor way to run a "first class resort" in our
opinion, but the only way to get brewed tea at WDW is at table
service. Aronda orders Cokes without ice here!

A nice feature here is the "topping bar"
which includes all the usual condiments (ketchup, mustard,
mayonnaise, salt/pepper, barbecue sauce, and the like) as well as
some "extras" that really allow you to "build a
better burger" like lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sauteed onions,
mushrooms, and pickles. A nice way to add some personalization to
your meal!!

We strongly recommend Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe!
