Disney Dreams Come True
Parade
The replacement for the Share A Dream
Come True parade in the Magic Kingdom has arrived. On
Sunday, August 27, Aronda viewed the new Disney Dreams Come
True parade, and found it to be the functional equivalent
of the former parade with a few minor changes. Most notable is
the removal of the glass globes on most of the floats--the
ones in which Disney characters used to be housed "snow
globe" style. Now, the same floats have had the globes
removed, allowing more movement of the characters on the
floats, along with some extra set decorations..
A more significant change is the musical
soundtrack. This totally new score lacks, in Aronda's opinion,
the verve of the old. In fact, she found it not unlike the
sound of local-chain radio jingles. Imagine: "Get
yourself a good used tire at Billy Bob's Retreads." While
it probably shouldn't be called "bad," it certainly
doesn't qualify as "good" either. Perhaps this is
just the beta testing period, so parade designers may get into
some serious tweaking soon.
Here are some photos of this new version:

The intro float--same as
before but sporting the new name.

Mickey's now out from under
the snow globe, and there's a stylized "hidden
Mickey" behind him.

The artists on bikes are
still part of the show.

The Pinocchio float has a
clock on top, which conveniently displays the time that the 3
o'clock parade starts.

Someone must've rubbed the
globe and set Aladdin free.

The villains' float.
