Electric Umbrella

One of the restaurants in Epcot's Future World, the Electric Umbrella is located in Innoventions East near Guest Relations and just across from Pin Central. This is a counter service restaurant with a fairly large menu, including burgers, chicken strips, and grilled chicken sandwiches.

A really appealing feature of the Electric Umbrella is the newly installed (April 2007) self-serve drink dispensers. Similar in functionality to those at Sunshine Seasons in The Land, the main difference is that at the Electric Umbrella you're welcome to refills during your meal--an unprecedented offering at Walt Disney World (with the exception of the refillable mugs sold at the resort hotels), and unheard-of in the parks! The fountain drinks are sold at the registers as empty cups, to be filled (and refilled) by the Guest. Sizes are "regular" and "large," though the regular is a very small cup and the large is what would be a regular at other restaurants. Additionally, the price has increased slightly over the same size labels at other restaurants. Regardless, the refillable nature of the fountain drinks here makes this a terrific deal--grab a last refill on your way out and enjoy another full drink as you continue touring!

The restaurant itself is still reminiscent of the "old" Future World--not having had any significant makeover in quite some time. That's okay, especially when the upstairs dining area is open. You can use the stairs to reach the upper level, and enjoy watching people pass through the breezeway below if you have a window table.

This restaurant does good business--surely testimony to the good food served here. When you're touring Epcot, consider the Electric Umbrella for a meal, or just grab a drink and cool off while enjoying the refills!
