Survivor Launches Eat to the Beat!
Concert Series Sept. 29-30
15 Acts Perform Sept. 29-Nov. 12
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- A blend of classic rock, oldies,
jazz and funk pumps up the entertainment factor during the
11th annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, Sept.
29-Nov. 12, at Walt Disney World Resort. The evenings will
sizzle with the Eat to the Beat! concerts scheduled daily at
5:45, 7 and 8:15 p.m. on the America Gardens Theatre stage.
Here's the tentative lineup:
- Sept. 29-30 - Survivor ("Eye of the Tiger")
- Oct. 1-3 - FamilyStoneExperience ("Everyday
People")
- Oct. 4-7 - Starship featuring Mickey Thomas ("We
Built This City")
- Oct. 8-11 - Loverboy ("Working for the
Weekend")
- Oct. 12-14 - David Sanborn ("Lesley Ann")
- Oct. 15-16 - The Beach Boys ("Good
Vibrations")
- Oct. 17-18 - Little Richard ("Tutti Frutti")
- Oct. 19-21 - Three Dog Night ("Joy to the
World")
- Oct. 22-25 - The Four Tops ("Baby I Need Your
Loving")
- Oct. 26-28 - Gloria Gaynor ("I Will Survive")
- Oct. 29-Nov. 1 - The S.O.S. Band ("Just Be Good to
Me")
- Nov. 2-4 - The Contours ("Do You Love Me")
- Nov. 5-6 - Chubby Checker & The Wildcats ("The
Twist")
- Nov. 7-8 - Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes ("Havin'
a Party")
- Nov. 9-12 - Jon Secada ("Just Another Day")
There's additional entertainment throughout World Showcase,
where food and wine marketplaces serve up appetizer-size
portions and wine samplings ($1.50-$4.50) while performers
from many countries weave music, dance, acrobatics and other
acts into the festivities. Entertainment slated for the event
includes:
- The 1960s British rock 'n' roll revival sound of The
British Invasion (United Kingdom)
- The gravity-defying Dragon Legend Acrobats (China)
- OrisiRisi interactive drum circle and African folklore
(Outpost)
- The daring Chair Balancing act (France)
- High-energy Celtic music of Off Kilter (Canada)
- The Arabic rhythms of Mo'Rockin (Morocco)
- Matsuriza traditional Taiko drummers (Japan)
- Voices of Liberty (The American Adventure rotunda)
- Rhythms and harmonies of internationally acclaimed
Mariachi Cobre (Mexico)
- Norwegian folk music of Spelmanns Gledje (Norway)
- Oktoberfest Musikanten dinner show (Germany)
The laser and musical fireworks finale, "IllumiNations:
Reflections of Earth," will cap each festival
evening.

SURVIVOR
OPENS ‘EAT TO THE BEAT’ CONCERTS! The 1970s rock band
Survivor will appear Sept. 29 and 30 during opening weekend of
the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney
World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known for “Eye of the
Tiger” and other hit songs, Survivor will perform three
times nightly during Eat to the Beat! concerts at the park’s
America Gardens Theatre. Nightly concerts featuring a mix of
rock, oldies, jazz and funk will continue throughout the
six-week festival.

FamilyStoneExperience
Welcomes ‘Everyday People’ at Epcot – The
FamilyStoneExperience, with founding members of soul-funk
legends Sly & the Family Stone, will appear Oct. 1-3 at
Eat to the Beat! concerts during the Epcot International Food
and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena
Vista, Fla. Known for “Everyday People” and other big
hits, the band will perform three times nightly at the
park’s America Gardens Theatre. Nightly concerts featuring a
mix of rock, oldies, jazz and funk will continue throughout
the six-week festival.

LOVERBOY
ROCKS EAT TO THE BEAT! CONCERTS Rock band Loverboy will appear
Oct. 8-11 at Eat to the Beat! concerts during the Epcot
International Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World
Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known for “Working for the
Weekend” and other 1980s tunes, the band will perform three
times nightly at the park’s America Gardens Theatre. Nightly
concerts featuring a mix of rock, oldies, jazz and funk will
continue throughout the six-week festival.

DAVID
SANBORN BRINGS SMOOTH JAZZ TO EPCOT FESTIVAL -- American sax
great David Sanborn will appear Oct. 12-14 at Eat to the Beat!
concerts during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known
for “Lesley Ann” and other jazz favorites, Sanborn will
perform three times nightly at the park’s America Gardens
Theatre. Nightly concerts featuring a mix of rock, oldies,
jazz and funk will continue throughout the six-week festival.

BEACH
BOYS BRING GOOD VIBRATIONS TO EPCOT FESTIVAL – Surf-rock
legends The Beach Boys will appear Oct. 15-16 at Eat to the
Beat! concerts during the Epcot International Food and Wine
Festival at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Known for “Good Vibrations,” “Surfin’ USA” and other
pop hits, The Beach Boys will perform three times nightly at
the park’s America Gardens Theatre. Nightly festival
concerts featuring a mix of rock, oldies, jazz and funk will
continue through Nov. 12.

LITTLE
RICHARD ‘SLIPPIN’ AND SLIDIN’ AT EPCOT FESTIVAL --
R&B-rock ‘n roll legend Little Richard will appear Oct.
17-18 at Eat to the Beat! concerts during the Epcot
International Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World
Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known for “Tutti Frutti,”
“Slippin’ and Slidin’” and other hits, Little Richard
will perform three times nightly at the park’s America
Gardens Theatre. Nightly festival concerts featuring a mix of
rock, oldies, jazz and funk will continue through Nov. 12.

THE
FOUR TOPS ‘REACH OUT’ TO EPCOT FANS – Motown hit makers
The Four Tops will appear Oct. 22-25 at Eat to the Beat!
concerts during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known
for hit classics “Reach Out I’ll Be There,” “Baby I
Need Your Loving,” and other mega-hits, The Four Tops will
perform three times nightly at the park’s America Gardens
Theatre. Nightly festival concerts featuring a mix of rock,
oldies, jazz and funk will continue through Nov. 12.

DANCE
DIVA GLORIA GAYNOR PLAYS TO EPCOT CROWD – Disco queen Gloria
Gaynor will appear Oct. 26-28 at Eat to the Beat! concerts
during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival at Walt
Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known for her
dance anthem “I Will Survive” and other disco hits, Gaynor
will perform three times nightly at the park’s America
Gardens Theatre. Nightly festival concerts featuring a mix of
rock, oldies, jazz and funk will continue through Nov. 12.

THE
S.O.S. BAND SIGNALS GOOD TIMES AT EPCOT FEST – The S.O.S.
Band will appear Oct. 29-Nov. 1 at Eat to the Beat! concerts
during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival at Walt
Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known for hits
like “Just Be Good to Me,” the band will perform three
times nightly at the park’s America Gardens Theatre. Nightly
festival concerts featuring a mix of rock, oldies, jazz and
funk will continue through Nov. 12.

THE
CONTOURS BRING MOTOWN MAGIC TO EPCOT – The Contours will
appear Nov. 2-4 at Eat to the Beat! concerts during the Epcot
International Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World
Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known for smash hit “Do You
Love Me,” the band will perform three times nightly at the
park’s America Gardens Theatre. Nightly festival concerts
featuring a mix of rock, oldies, jazz and funk will continue
through Nov. 12.

CHUBBY
CHECKER TWISTS AGAIN AT EPCOT FESTIVAL – Chubby Checker
& The Wildcats will appear Nov. 5-6 at Eat to the Beat!
concerts during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known
for smash hits “The Twist,” “Limbo Rock” and
“Let’s Twist Again,” Chubby Checker and his band are
back by popular demand to perform three times nightly at the
park’s America Gardens Theatre. Nightly festival concerts
featuring a mix of rock, oldies, jazz and funk will continue
through Nov. 12.

GRAMMY
WINNER JON SECADA WRAPS FESTIVAL CONCERT SERIES –
Double-Grammy singer-songwriter Jon Secada brings his eclectic
sound to Epcot Nov. 9-12 at Eat to the Beat! concerts during
the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney
World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Known for gold single
“Just Another Day” and other hits, Secada performs three
times nightly at the park’s America Gardens Theatre.
