Journey Into Your Imagination with Figment

This attraction is located in the Imagination Pavilion in Epcot Future World, along with the popular Honey I Shrunk the Audience 3-D movie. It features Figment, the purple dragon which remains ever-popular with fans, and Dr. Nigel Channing, who also appears in the 3-D film. The premise is a drive-through open house at the Imagination Institute, to be hosted by Dr. Channing. However, Figment proves to be a constant nuisance to Dr. Channing, ultimately taking over the tour altogether. While certainly not a "gate buster" attraction, this one is worth having a look.

Journey Into Your Imagination with Figment is actually the third incarnation of this attraction. The first long-running version featured Dreamfinder--a classic kind of guy who built an unusual device which actually produced Figment. Several years ago, the attraction was redesigned to look much as it does now, only without Figment. Needless to say, Figment's fans were not pleased, and Disney redesigned the attraction once again, this time including Figment. The reintroduction of Figment was an improvement over the redesign, but Aronda feels that the original version was, by far, the best.

After the ride is over, you'll disembark from your ride vehicle and pass through ImageWorks, a hands-on indoor playground with various imagination-inspiring apparatus, sponsored by Kodak, as is the entire pavilion. In this area, you'll be able to find lots of Figment-centric items for sale, including plush, tee shirts, computer mouse pads, and lots more.
