Yak & Yeti
Anandapur Local Food Cafes

Disney's Animal Kingdom's second
table service restaurant, Yak & Yeti,
also features a counter service arm known as the Anandapur Local
Food Cafes located adjacent to the table service establishment.

The front of Anandapur Local Food
Cafes is open-air,
as is the ample seating off to the side and rear of this area.

Foods are served in little
cardboard "carryout" containers
Serving from the same kitchen as Yak & Yeti,
this counter service eatery offers Asian foods of good quality,
though they are a bit on the expensive side for counter service
(entrees are almost all in the $9.99-10.99 price range). A popular
item here is the Honey Chicken, which comes with battered and fried
Chicken Nuggets served with rice and vegetables (broccoli and
carrots), all drizzled with Honey Sauce. At $9.99, this seems pricy,
but there's a nice quantity of chicken included, and it's all of
very good quality.
The drinks here are available in two sizes, the
"regular" size is the 32oz. paper cup, while the larger
size is actually a "souvenir sports bottle" that can be
reused (no refills, however). Unfortunately, as with almost all
counter service at WDW, the tea is not fresh brewed here--so beware
of ordering the tea unless you like soda-fountain tea!
When this one first opened, the Soy Sauce was the
off-brand, packed into transparent pillow packets, and quite
tasteless. As of December 2009, Aronda noticed that this has been
replaced by Kikkoman brand pillow packets, available in both
"regular" as well as lower-sodium varieties. The
name-brand really helps one to enjoy a meal here, as the Soy Sauce
now actually has flavor!
Unfortunately, Anandapur Local Food Cafes does not
honor any discounts (including Tables in Wonderland, DVC Member, or
Annual Pass), though Yak & Yeti (table service) does give an
Annual Passholder discount of 10% off your entree. Check on
this to verify on each visit here to be sure if you have any of the
possible discount cards!

Early in the day, a cashier
prepares for another busy one!

Cooking up the eats!

Aaah, the sweet taste of good
