Nine Dragons
(photos below)
No vacation destination would be complete
without Chinese food--and Epcot satisfies the need with Nine
Dragons, a terrific table service eatery with plenty of
Chinese dishes which are sure to please!
Nine Dragons shares the China Pavilion in
Epcot's World Showcase with a counter service establishment
known as Lotus Blossom Cafe.
Lotus Blossom underwent a comprehensive remodel in early 2007,
and the decor is very modern/contemporary with an Asian feel
that you're sure to enjoy.
The menu
at Nine Dragons has plenty of choices--including the
ever-popular General Tso's Chicken, which is a plate of
boneless chicken breast nuggets fried and coated with a spicy
sauce--it's like having your fried chicken nuggets pre-dipped
in barbeque sauce! Aronda as well as several members of her
staff love General Tso's Chicken.
Nine Dragons is a fabulous restaurant...now.
But it wasn't always this way. For quite some time, the food
was considered by many Guests to be mediocre at best, and this
place became one to avoid. In the past year or two, Nine
Dragons has tightened up its act so that now it seems to be
getting consistently good reviews. The best thing about its
longstanding reputation is that many Guests still avoid it,
making it easier to get a table as a walk-up Guest than at
most of the other Epcot restaurants. At this time, our biggest
complaint is the brusque service from the wait staff--we've
never been treated rudely, just with a cool efficiency that's
very much unlike what one would expect at Walt Disney World.
On our last visit in May 2007, however, we found our waiter to
be friendly and attentive to our needs, so hopefully this too
is changing for the better.
Aronda needs more information and opinions
about this restaurant! If you've eaten here recently, please write
us to let us know how you found it--the food, the service,
the general repair of the restaurant itself--as well as any
observations or stories about what happened during your meal.
The Disney Dining Experience card is honored
here, so if you have one be sure to show it to save 20% off
your check. This one also sometimes gives a discount to Disney
Vacation Club members, so check your Portable Perks (we keep
the DVC perks listed right here
on ArondaParks.com too) and show your member card.

Nine Dragons has lots of
windows looking out toward World
Showcase Lagoon--a great place to be when Illuminations:
Reflections of Earth is performed in the evening!

Entrance is on the side
along the walkway leading into the China pavilion

During daylight hours, the restaurant is filled with sunlight
from the windows

Lots of polished teak wood
and traditional Chinese decor here
