Olivia's
(photos below)
"Where a Key West
escape is as
simple as opening a menu"
Olivia's is the full-service restaurant at Disney's
Old Key West Resort. The food here is quite good--and
getting a table is seldom difficult, even without Advance
Reservations. As with the rest of this Resort, Olivia's is
evocative of Key West, Florida in both decor and menu
selections. You'll find Conch Chowder and Key Lime Pie on the
menu here, as well as many other yummy items. During an
October 2007 visit here, Aronda ordered a "chef's
special" which wasn't on the menu, consisting of a really
great buttermilk fried chicken breast and mashed potato--a
delicious entree!
When staying at Old Key West--or even elsewhere at WDW--Olivia's
is a great way to "get away from it all" to take in
a relaxing meal without the hurried pace of the parks or even
the more crowded resort restaurants. Old Key West is
considered a Downtown Disney resort, and there's even a
walkway connecting it to Downtown Disney West Side (but it's
not lighted, so avoid using it at night, since it meanders
through some rather woodsy areas--and a golf course!). If you
prefer, you can catch the Sassagoula Ferry from Downtown
Disney, Saratoga Springs, or Port Orleans--it stops at Old Key
West, too.
Olivia's honors the Disney Dining Experience card, so be
sure to show yours if you have one to save 20% off your bill
(before gratuity). Additionally, as a restaurant at a Disney
Vacation Club Resort, DVC Members are often entitled to a
discount here as well. Be sure to ask your server, or consult
the Portable Perks to verify (by the way, you can always check
out the current Portable Perks
right here on Aronda's website--click here
to check it out!).
Next time you need a break for some great food in a
laid-back atmosphere--give Olivia's a try. If you're burned
out on the "same old" park restaurants, this one's a
well-themed, good-tasting eatery that's just a little off the
beaten path, but not so far away that you'll waste too much
time trying to get to it!
