Adventure Room at World of
Disney Offers Swashbuckling Array of Fun
If you're a Pirates of the Caribbean fan, you'll love the
Adventure Room located inside World of Disney at Downtown
Disney Marketplace. Though clearly targeting young lads, the
room is interesting for anyone who's ever fantasized about
being a pirate on the high seas in search of gazillions of
dollars' worth of treasure. In fact, you can even pack a
treasure chest with a variety of treasure in this room. The
only catch: Instead of escaping on the high seas with what
you're pilfered, you must belly up to the cashier to pay for
your riches.
Another nice line of attire is pirate headgear. You
purchase the hat that appeals to you most, then buy pins,
medallions, and patches to snap onto your hat. (Each piece
priced separately, though I found the price point reasonable
here.) Below, I've included some photos of the Adventure Room,
including an Audio-Animatronics pirate that talks to guests
who've gathered in a common quest for treasure.

You
know you've arrived at the exterior entrance to the Adventure
Room when you see this fellow.

Here's
an example of the hat I told you about. You design it yourself
with easy "snap-on" ornaments.

Lots
of pirate loot surround the pirate "host" of the
Adventure Room.
A
close-up of the Audio-Animatronics pirate, whose soliloquy
mesmerizes lots of youngsters in the room--and of course
convinces them that they must shop, shop, shop!
