Disney's Saratoga Springs
Resort & Spa
A Disney Vacation Club Resort

This Disney Vacation Club Resort, which
includes possibly the best spa on property, is a large,
sprawling resort that recently added Disney's Treehouse Villas
to its collection of accommodations. The resort's theme is
"Health, History and Horses," and that theme
resonates throughout the resort--from the statue of a horse
and jockey at the Carriage House check-in area to the healthy
choices at the Spa and restaurants, and the nods to its New
York state namesake.

The resort features six sections of
accommodations, which include The Springs (closest to the
Carriage House, where you'll find the check-in and concierge
desks and restaurants), The Paddock, Congress Park, The
Carousel, The Grandstand and Treehouse Villas. As is true of
all DVC resorts, you may choose from studio villas (fairly
typical hotel room with the added feature of a kitchenette,
with coffee maker, microwave, small sink, and small fridge),
to the one- and two-bedroom villas (complete with washer and
dryer combos and full kitchens) to the grand villa (which
sleeps 12). Getting from the more remote buildings to the
Carriage House can take quite a bit of time and sneaker tread;
however, the resort has an internal bus which can transport
you from your room to the feature pool area and the Carriage
House.

As you can see from the photos, the decor is
very inviting--with dark woods and classic fabrics and
designs. The counter tops, both in the bathroom and kitchen,
are durable granite.

The feature pool is called High Rock Springs,
which features a 126-foot water slide, jacuzzi, children's
play area, pool bar called On the Rocks Pool Bar, and more.
The pool is frequently crowded, but because of its size, you
won't feel "squeezed out" at all. On select
evenings, poolside Disney movies are shown to guests enjoying
the pool.

Other amenities include BBQ grill areas
(first-come, first-served), The Backstretch Pool Bar (located
at one of the quiet pools), guest laundry (for those staying
in the studio villas, which do not come equipped with washer
and dryer), Horsing Around Recreation Rentals (boats and
bikes), the Win, Place or Show Arcade, the Spa and Fitness
Center, Lake Buena Vista Golf and community hall, where a wide
variety of activities occur for guests.

As is true of all Disney resort hotels, Pizza
Delivery is available from 4:00 p.m. until midnight. The
Artist's Palette is a unique combination of a neighborhood
market and an artist's loft that offers you a variety of food
(the flatbreads are wonderful), sundries and souvenirs.
Sundries and grocery items like milk, juice, breakfast items,
snacks, condiments and wines are also available. Next to the
food service area is a gift shop, with many resort-specific
gifts available.

The Turf Club Bar & Grill is the resort's
full-service restaurant, where you can enjoy a wide variety of
seafood, steaks, pasta and other fare. Reservations are
strongly recommended for both lunch and dinner.

In keeping with the High
Rock Springs theme, the pool features many boulders
interspersed with steps that lead you to the waterfalls and
also to the restaurant and lounge areas.

The huge feature pool
allows for scores of guests to enjoy themselves and cool off
on Florida's many hot days.

As you can see, kids love
the play area, which features a Donald Duck sculpture.
