Weekly WDW Survey
"What Will You
Celebrate?" Survey Results
Twenty-four site visitors responded to
our survey about vacation plans during Walt Disney World’s
What Will You Celebrate promotion. Here are the results:
- Considering
the state of the economy at present, are you either
actively planning or have booked a Walt Disney World
vacation between the months of January and December 2009? Response:
Fifteen (62.5%) visitors had already planned a vacation,
with five others (20.8%) in the process of planning. Three
site visitors (12.5%) are in a “wait-and-see” mode,
waiting to see how the economy impacts their personal
situations. One (4.2%) visitor said that a WDW vacation is
definitely not in the cards this year.
- If
you are planning to visit WDW during 2009, will your
birthday occur during your vacation? Response:
Out of the 23 visitors who are hoping to visit WDW this
year, only 3 (13%) will celebrate their birthdays during
their vacation.
- If
your birthday will occur during your 2009 vacation, do you
know that WDW will either (A) allow you free admission on
your birthday or (B) allow you to receive a free gift if
you already have your ticket or annual pass? Response:
Of the 14 site visitors who answered this question, 12
(85.7%) were aware of the birthday “perks” while 2
(14.3%) were not.
- If
you knew about WDW’s “What Will You Celebrate?”
promotion including the perks described in Question 3, did
you plan your vacation so that your birthday (or the
birthday of another member of your party) will occur
during your vacation? Response:
Of the twenty site visitors who answered this question,
two (10%) indicated that the birthday promotion impacted
their decision to visit WDW in 2009. However, eighteen
(90%) indicated that the birthday promotion didn’t
factor into their travel dates.
Comments
from our site visitors included:
-
I
so wish I could, but the scheduling just won't work.
-
My
birthday is in late November and I will NOT go to WDW near
any major holiday!

We
just got back from a 1 week visit to WDW--all 4 parks. We
had a fabulous experience with the new What Will You
Celebrate campaign, too. We bought our first annual pass
because we knew we were going to be lucky enough to get to
go to WDW twice--maybe 3 times this year (which is amazing
to us since we live in MO which is not exactly close to
FL). Anyway, the cast member who sold us our very first
annual pass gave us the celebrate buttons to wear and when
we went to the Magic Kingdom, darn if they didn't choose
us to be Grand Marshalls in the new Celebrate You Parade!
From then on, we had that as well as our first annual pass
to celebrate!!! Naturally enough, I suppose, we LOVE the
new theme for this year. :-)
-
We
took advantage of the "Buy 4, Get 3 Free"
promotion.
