Tutto Italia
(photos below)
Tragically, the wonderful Italian table
service restaurant, L'Originale Restaurante d'Alfredo's,
closed its doors in the Italy pavilion in Epcot's World
Showcase. The incredible fettuccine alfredo, its signature
dish, as well as the fabulous lasagna, will be sorely missed
by many. The new replacement restaurant now open in this space
is known as Tutto Italia, and reportedly will undergo another
closure and refurbishment in 2008. During the closure, a
"fast casual" restaurant will continue to serve
Italian cuisine.
Aronda dined at Tutto Italia for dinner on
Tuesday, October 9, 2007, and found that the new restaurant is
just as delightful as the former, though in very different
ways. The decor is still the same (until sometime in 2008),
with the exception that the pasta-making room visible through
a large window in the lobby is no longer functional. It
appears that the level of "formality" has increased
over the Alfredo's experience, though the Guest will still
feel very comfortable and relaxed here.
The food is excellent--one of Aronda's team
ordered the lasagna (it's one of his favorite dishes ever--and
no, Aronda doesn't have Garfield the cat
on her staff!!), and he reported it to be quite possibly the
best lasagna he's ever eaten! The noodles are fresh, served al
dente, and the cheese and sauce are both supremely tasty.
Unfortunately, the price points here have
spiked to the point that this should easily be considered one
of the highest park restaurants in terms of check total. You'd
expect a higher pricing schedule at California Grill,
Narcoossee's, and similar top-tier eateries, but as far as
in-park dining goes, Aronda feels that this one is priced
considerably higher than it should be. In fact, the pricing
here reminds Aronda's staff of similar pricing schedule at Il
Mulino restaurant over at the Swan and Dolphin--the new
Italian eatery that replaced Palio recently.
If you love Italian food, then this is one you
won't want to miss!
Aronda needs more information and opinions
about this restaurant! If you've eaten here recently, please write
us to let us know how you found it--the food, the service,
the general repair of the restaurant itself--as well as any
observations or stories about what happened during your meal.
The Tables in Wonderland (formerly known as Disney Dining Experience) card is honored
here, so if you have one be sure to show it to save 20% off
your check.

Here are a couple of photos taken of the
dedication ceremony held on Monday, September 24, 2007.
Unfortunately, Aronda wasn't invited, or our photos wouldn't
have been taken from so far away! Well, maybe next time...
